  • 6 to 20 September 2008 - St Ives September Festival  - A wide variety of music, arts, talks, cinema, writing and poetry at venues across St Ives, including many free events in pubs and cafes around town.
     
  • 13 & 14 September 2008 - Thames Festival the capitals largest free, open-air arts festival with high-profile, cutting-edge arts events for unique environments on and around the river. It also showcases the best in street arts, with pyrotechnics, illuminations, art installations, river events, street theatre, massed choirs, circus and music. Tens of thousands dance in the streets at the festival's climactic event, a spectacular Night Carnival that's a vivid mixture of masquerade, dance, music and fantastic costumes.
     
  • 19 to 28 September 2008 - The Jane Austen Festival at Bath has a veritable feast of delights for all Jane Austen and Regency fans.
     
  • Saturday 20th to Saturday 27th September 2008 - Tenby Arts Festival (Wales) has a mix of classical and light music, drama, talks, poetry, jazz, art and film.
     
  • 26 to 28 September 2008 - Scarborough Jazz Festival  - Staged in the Grand Hall of the Victorian Spa Complex, the program unashamedly relies heavily on British musicians.
