• 29 July to 5 September 2010 - Edinburgh Art Festival - Established in 2004, the Festival works in partnership with the city’s artists, galleries, museums and visual art spaces to present modern and contemporary visual art.
   
• 16 July to 11 September - BBC Proms
   
• 1 to 5 September 2010 - The Great Dorset Steam Fair held at the village of Tarrant Hinton.
   
• 2 to 12 September 2010 - North Norfolk Music Festival - (Norfolk)
   
• 3 to 5 September 2010 - Wallingford Bunkfest - Oxfordshire.
   
• 3 to 5 September 2010 - Off the Tracks Festival - Live music, fancy dress, market stalls, children's activities, parades, and more. Donington Park Farmhouse, Melbourne Road Isley Walton, Castle Donington Nr Derby, Derbyshire.
   
• 4 & 5 September 2010 - Coventry Festival of Motoring a fun-packed weekend of entertainment and car runs celebrating Coventry’s unique motoring heritage.  Thousands of visitors attend the two day event in Millennium Place and at Coventry's War Memorial Park.
   
• *10 to 12 September 2010 - Swanage Folk Festival - (Dorset)
   
• 10 to 12 September 2010 - End of the Road Festival - Larmer Tree Gardens, Dorset.
   
• 10 to 12 September 2010 - Ludlow Food Festival began in 1995 and aims to showcase local produce as well as shops, restaurants, and pubs in Ludlow, (Shropshire).
   
• 10 to 12 September 2010 - Bromyard Folk Festival - a festival of traditional music, song and dance with local, national and international traditional folk musicians performing in concert, ceilidhs and displays.  Bromyard is in Herefordshire
    
• 11 & 12 September 2010 - Haddenham Steam Rally a traditional steam and country fair at Haddenham, Nr Ely, Cambs, CB6 3PT
   
• 11 & 12 September 2010 - Thames Festival the capitals largest free, open-air arts festival with high-profile, cutting-edge arts events for unique environments on and around the river. It also showcases the best in street arts, with pyrotechnics, illuminations, art installations, river events, street theatre, massed choirs, circus and music. Tens of thousands dance in the streets at the festival's climactic event, a spectacular Night Carnival that's a vivid mixture of masquerade, dance, music and fantastic costumes.
   
• 11 to 25 September 2010 - St Ives September Festival  - A wide variety of music, arts, talks, cinema, writing and poetry at venues across St Ives, including many free events in pubs and cafes around town. St Ives is in Cornwall
   
• 17 & 18 September 2010 - Loopallu - An annual music festival held in Ullapool, Scotland
   
• 17 to 19 September 2010 - The Goodwood Revival - An historic motor race meeting, The Revival relives the glory days of Goodwood Motor Circuit, which ranked alongside Silverstone as Britain’s leading racing venue throughout its active years between 1948 and 1966. (West Sussex).
   
• 17 to 25 September 2010 - The Jane Austen Festival at Bath has a veritable feast of delights for all Jane Austen and Regency fans. (See accommodation in Bath)
   
• 17 to 26 September 2010 - York Food and Drink Festival - A 10 day city-wide event to promote local and regional food and drink in York, (North Yorkshire).
   
• 18 & 19 September 2010  - Grand Henham Steam Rally at Henham Park, near Southwold, Suffolk (see more steam and traction engine rallies)
   
• *18 & 19 September 2010 - Feast of Dorset - A celebration of seasonal West Country food and drink at Deans Court, Wimbourne, (Dorset).
   
• 18 September to 25 September 2010 - Tenby Arts Festival (Wales) has a mix of classical and light music, drama, talks, poetry, jazz, art and film.
   
• 23 September to 3 October 2010 - Hampstead and Highgate Festival
   
  
• 24 to 26 September 2010 - Scarborough Jazz Festival. Scarborough is in North Yorkshire.
   
• 24 to 26 September 2010 - Great Central Beer Festival in Leicestershire
   
• 25 September (Saturday) 2010 - Appledore Book Festival
   
• 25 & 26 September 2010 - North Western Vintage Fair Organ & Steam Rally the largest free admission gathering of Vintage Fair Organs and Vintage machinery in the UK. Victoria Park is the main formal park in Widnes (Cheshire)
   
• 30 September to 3 October 2010 - Tenterden Folk Festival - Tenterden, Kent.
   
• 30 September to 17 October 2010 - Dublin Theatre Festival - International theatre balanced with Irish productions, especially new plays.
