  • Celtic Connections, Glasgow Glasgow’s annual folk, roots and world music festival, Celtic Connections celebrates Celtic music and its connections to cultures across the globe. Musicians from around the world will descend on Glasgow and bring the city to life for 18 days of concerts, ceilidhs, talks, art exhibitions, workshops, and free events. All venues are easy to find, whether you travel by plane, train or automobile - or even on foot! Situated right in the heart of Glasgow city centre.
     
  • BHW (Pidgeon) SHOW OF THE YEAR - third weekend in January. National pigeon show at the Winter Gardens at Blackpool, held on the third weekend in January each year. All the profit from the show is donated to various charities.
     
  • Whittlesea Straw Bear Festival - includes a procession with over 250 dancers, musicians and performers from various parts of the British Isles performing traditional 'Molly', 'Morris', 'Clog' and 'Sword. There is also American style 'Appalachian' dancing, street performances and Mummers plays. Although the festivities begin earlier in the week, the Saturday is the only day on which the 'Bear' makes an appearance before the 'Bear Burning' on the Sunday. (in Cambridgeshire)
