• Throughout August 2010 - Edinburgh Art Festival - Established in 2004, the Festival works in partnership with the city’s artists, galleries, museums and visual art spaces to present modern and contemporary visual art.

• 31 July to 7 August 2010 - Cowes Week is the worlds premier sailing regatta, with almost 1,000 yachts and 8,000 competitors taking part in some top-class sailing.

• 29 May to 29 August 2010 - Glyndebourne Festival - Opera festival at Glyndebourne in Lewes, (East Sussex) The 2010 Festival includes revivals of Così fan tutte, Macbeth, Hänsel und Gretel and The Rake's Progress as well as two new productions: Mozart's Don Giovanni and our first ever production of Britten's Billy Budd.

• 6 to 8 August 2010 - Edinburgh Mela - An annual multicultural arts festival celebrating the wide diversity of cultures in Scotland. Although Edinburgh Mela's roots are in South Asian cultures, this is a festival for everybody. Music, colour, dance, art, fashion, food, children's activities, the Mela bazaar and more.
   
• 6 to 8 August 2010 - One Love Festival 2010 - Reggae music festival at Hainault Forest Country Park, Fox Burrow Road, London.
   
• 6 to 13 August 2010 - Broadstairs Folk Week - (Kent).
   
• 6 to 28 August 2010 - Edinburgh Military Tattoo - Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is held annually at the Edinburgh Castle.
   
• 6 to 30 August 2010 - Edinburgh Festival Fringe the biggest arts festival in the world, with something for everyone: theatre, comedy, music, dance, exhibitions, and more.
   
• 7 & 8 August 2010 - Surrey Mini Bluegrass Festival
   
• 7 to 15 August 2010 - Three Choirs Festival - Held in August of each year in Gloucester, Hereford, or Worcester. In 2010, the festival will be held in Gloucester.

• To be confirmed 2010 - Reading & Leeds Festival - An annual rock music festival that first began in 1961 as a jazz festival (see accommodation in Reading). 
   
• To be confirmed 2010 - Notting Hill Carnival has evolved into an event that reflects the best of Black Music. Sterling Betancourt, Russ Henderson and others were part of the first steelband and are still very much a part of Carnival playing in steelbands like Nostalgia and Pan Necktar.
