Merseyside
Merseyside, in North West England, takes its name from the River Mersey.
Merseyside is divided into two parts by the Mersey Estuary: the Wirral
Peninsula is on the western side of the estuary, and the rest of the county
is on the eastern side of the estuary. Merseyside borders Lancashire to the
north, Greater Manchester to the east, and Cheshire to the south.
