Great Central Railway

The Great Central Railway, the heritage steam rail on the list of the 50 greatest railway journeys in the world runs between Leicester and Loughborough.

The steam line which runs from Birstall on the northside of Leicester, through Rothley, to Loughborough, is the only place in the world where full size steam engines can be seen passing each other. Trains run every weekend, bank holidays - and daily in the summer.
