Essex Costume & Reenactment Groups

• Earl of Essex Regiment of Foot - A pike and musket regiment dedicated to the acurate portrayal of life during the English Civil War during the 17th Century.
• The Essex Militia - An English based Historical Living History group, that covers the time period from James I through to James II, (the years 1603 to 1703).
• Britannia one of the oldest) re-enactment groups in the UK portraying the late Roman period
• Colchester Historical Enactment Society a multi period society, representing the various interests of its membership, has re-enacted a wide variety of different  historical periods. However, from the very start, their core period has always been Early medieval and enactment of 10th Century Saxons. In recent years, C.H.E.S. has decided to re-create a crew of disreputable early 18th century mariners - in short, Pirates!! The society's interest in maritime history has now expanded, with shows based on Essex tea Smugglers, and both the Merchant Mariners, and the Royal Navy of the early Eighteenth Century.
   
• The Medieval Combat Society is a medieval reenactment group. The object of the Society is to have fun whilst entertaining the public and generate an interest in British history. have regular training sessions in Kingston Upon Thames. Members come from all over the Southern UK, with members in Bedfordshire, Essex, Gloucestershire, Hampshire, Hertfordshire, London, Somerset, Surrey, Sussex, and Wiltshire.
